Why "Pawperator"?

Named for the switchboard operator — one place to find the sitter, supplier or service you need.

Every hour counts

Post a missing or found pet in under a minute. Free, public, and readable by people who aren’t signed in.

Lost & Found

A national board for missing and found pets. Free, public, and visible to people who aren’t signed in — because a post nobody can see is no use to anyone.

If your pet has just gone missing

Post here, but don’t stop here. Call your municipal animal services and the shelters within 20km — most found pets are handed in, not spotted online. Have your microchip number ready and make sure the registry has your current phone number. Check the shelters in person every couple of days; staff descriptions and your description of the same animal often don’t match.

A word on safety

Anything you put in the contact field is public to the whole internet, so use whatever you’re comfortable with — or leave it blank and let people message you through Pawperator. Reward scams are common: never pay anyone who contacts you claiming to have your pet before you have seen the animal yourself. If someone pressures you to send money first, report the post.

Raw Feeding Calculator

Standard raw guideline: 2–3% of ideal adult body weight per day (puppies 5–10%). Educational tool — confirm with your vet.

For Business

Free forever to be listed. Upgrade anytime — your plan choice is saved to your account.

Trust, Rules & Safety

How this place is run, who runs it, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Community rules

Short, because they only need to be. Break one and your listing comes down; do it deliberately and your account goes with it.

  1. No selling animals. Rehoming is welcome. Asking for money for an animal — a “deposit”, a “rehoming fee”, a “transport fee” — is not, and is the single fastest way to be removed.
  2. No fake reviews. Don’t review your own business, don’t review a competitor, don’t pay anyone to review either. The Pawperator Raw Score™ is the product; faking it is fraud against every other supplier here.
  3. No spam. One listing per business. Classifieds are for real items and real services.
  4. Be accurate. If you claim a certification, a licence or an ingredient, you should be able to show it.
  5. Be civil. Disagree about raw diets all you like. Harassment, threats and pile-ons are removed without discussion.
  6. Animal welfare comes first. If a listing or a post suggests an animal is at risk, report it. Serious cases go to the relevant SPCA or humane society, not just to us.

Reporting & moderation

Every post, listing and classified ad has a Report link at the bottom. It takes one click and a sentence. Reports go to the Pawperator team and are read by a person — there is no automated filter deciding this.

Pawperator is a small, owner-run platform, so moderation is hands-on rather than instant. We aim to look at every report within 48 hours. Anything involving an animal at risk, a scam in progress, or a threat to someone’s safety jumps the queue.

Urgent or serious? Email hello.pawperator@gmail.com directly. If an animal is in immediate danger, contact your local SPCA or humane society first — we are not an emergency service.

Your data & your privacy

Your listings, posts, reviews and events are public — that is the point of a directory. Your email address is not shown to other members.

About private messages: messages you send through Pawperator are visible to you and the person you sent them to, and are not readable by other members. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and the platform owner can access them when investigating a report, a scam or a safety complaint. We don’t read them casually and we don’t sell or share them — but you should know the capability exists before you treat a message here as private correspondence.

You can ask for your account and everything on it to be deleted at any time by emailing hello.pawperator@gmail.com.

Ownership disclosure

Pawperator's founder also owns and operates K9GourmetBB Ltd., a premium raw pet food supplier listed in this directory (Toronto GTA — Barkin’ Bites, Finicky Felines, Fuzzy Feast). We’re telling you this up front, not because we’re required to, but because a directory that hides a conflict of interest isn’t one you should trust.

The neutrality commitment

K9GourmetBB is ranked by the exact same Pawperator Raw Score™ algorithm as every other supplier on this platform — no manual boosts, no hidden weighting, no exceptions. If K9GourmetBB and a competitor tie on score, the competitor is shown first. We will never quietly change the algorithm to favour our own listing, and any supplier is welcome to request an audit of how their score was calculated.

How the Pawperator Raw Score™ works

Verified reviews

Volume-weighted — more reviews carry more signal, but a handful of 5-stars can’t outweigh a genuine pattern.

Licensing & insurance

Business licensing and liability insurance on file, checked at verification and renewal.

CFIA compliance

Raw producers must demonstrate compliance with applicable federal food-safety rules.

Sourcing transparency

Suppliers who publish where their protein comes from score higher than those who don’t.

Responsiveness

How quickly a business replies to customer inquiries and review responses.

Verification status

Documents-on-file vs. self-reported — clearly badged on every profile.

Accountability

Once Pawperator has 25 founding suppliers, one is invited to audit a random sample of rankings annually and publish the result. Any supplier who believes their score is wrong can request a manual review — disputes are logged and resolved within 5 business days.

Questions or a dispute?

Reach the founder directly at hello.pawperator@gmail.com. Every message gets a personal reply — there’s no support queue yet, just us.

Free, and free for good.

Book a sitter, review a supplier, post to Lost & Found, RSVP to an event or ask a question — all of it costs nothing and always will for pet owners. You don’t need a business, and we won’t ask you for a card.
